Human Miracles

Enter Roy

The day after I re-entered civilization from my soul-searching retreat in the canyon a few weeks ago, a dude named Roy showed up in town from LA to begin a life without money.  He was determined to come, and his determination and positive attitude has inspired me to no end!  And my feeling weak these days is totally good, to remind me that if anything is taught, it isn't from me.

He even started a blog about all this.

The uncommonly common amidst uncommon uniqueness

Like Carolyn, Roy has something deeply unique and mysterious about him.  But unlike Carolyn, who has a demeanor of calm patience, Roy has an exuberant, go-getter personality.  All the folks who have hooked up with me so far have been tantalizingly different from each other and from me--both the newcomers into town and my local friends already here.  Yet there's a certain commonality among us all that intrigues me to no end, that I can't put my finger upon.  It's bare, raw sincerity--yes, I think that's it!  Usually, when we look for friends, for people to love, we look for people just like us--you know, like in dating services.  But what blows me away now is how we all are so different, and yet we have an indescribable love for one another.  It's a commonality beyond understanding.

If anybody should have a book written about him...

Roy's life fascinates me to no end.  He is straight out of hard-core, LA Latino culture; he was a fitness trainer, a military man, then a professional poker player, before coming here.  While in the army he had a spiritual epiphany and became a pacifist, getting himself out of the military against all odds (being disgraced by his military superiors and peers).  He then made easy money from poker, and, by all appearances, "having it made," he found himself gliding up the economic scale, feeling like he'd never have to really work again.  But he realized he felt unfulfilled.  He did what virtually any other person would never dare to do:  he decided to give it all up, give up all his money, his car, his house, and he came to Moab.  On top of that, his parents drove him to Moab all the way from LA, and basically gave him their blessing.  How unusual is it for parents to do something like that?   They hugged me as they left.

Roy is a challenge junky and a genius and is driven by a divine wisdom that I've rarely seen so clearly in a human.  He blows all stereotypes and astounds me.

The past week-and-a-half that Roy has been here has been packed with fun.  The love and hospitality of my friends has shone bright as the sun.  We've gone to a few parties, including a couple jams, some hikes, and the community of Free Meal.  Here's a pic of a going-away jam for Aaron and Amanda (they just left for Costa Rica).  I'm usually not such a socialite.

Roy was prepared (and hoping) for some hard-core survivalist living and random challenges, and discovered that my Moab life is pretty cush right now.  This is the first summer I haven't left Moab and haven't wandered the US since I gave up money, I think.  It's when I'm on the road that the magic of random blessings happen most clearly, as well as trials taking me to my wits end (Usually the magical random blessings happen right when I'm at my wit's end).  Of course, this is what appeals to a young person like Roy, wanting to be baptized into the heart of life.

I was considering hitting the road for Roy's sake, to give him a taste of the magical roll of the dice.  But I have a couple obligations keeping me here this summer, and I have to be here early October as well.  I've been using this summer to hang out, develop community,  farm, meditate, and write--taking a needed reprieve from years of past summer wandering.  We were talking about hitting the road in late July, train-hopping and hitching for a few weeks,  coming back, then going to the west coast in later October and trying for hitching to Hawaii.  But Roy was itching to plunge in now before the Hawaii plan.

So Roy, in his spontaneity, decided to put on his pack and hitch-hike out of Moab this morning, wander around the US, with zero money, for maybe 3 months, then return in October for our next venture.  It seems right he go through this baptism by fire first.  His teacher won't be me, but the Laws of Chance, otherwise called the mind of God.  He has the perfect attitude for it.

Love through the fires

Meanwhile, there've been other things I've been processing.  Before Roy came, I went through some way hard, humbling stuff, as I alluded to in the last post, and some of my best friends witnessed me at my weakest.  Such things either make or break friendships.  Hmm, I think I must say that my friends', and especially Brer's, highly noble character has shown through all this, as his light shines through everything.  Oh, yeah, that's him and his daughter, Veda (I don't think I've ever before witnessed a human who savors and unabashedly celebrates life as she does.  It's astounding, in fact).

I added another FAQ to the website (#31. Why are you an extremist? Shouldn't you follow the Middle Way between extremes?) and hope to add other writings.

  2. Does moneyless living achieves egoless living?. I guess that's the point, but in reality it can achieve the opposite end. Moneyless living can turn into egoist living.

  3. Hey, glad to hear that you're in good spirits again!

I think it's wise that you're spending more time embracing the joyful aspect of your life's philosophy. That's the best part about it, and really the whole point. It's not just another belief or dogma or thesis, it's a way of liberation. It's an escape from the old, corrupt ways to embrace something new and wonderful and hopeful and exciting.

Real life comradery is the perfect antidote to the online nastiness! If the comment section here ever starts to get you down or and puts you on the defensive, a little time with your friends should put things back into perspective.

    Keep it up!

  4. I would say joy can be problematic. Just look at the sad state of the US today. Is it because of too much joy at the expense of self-denial?.

  11. Hey Suelo, just read F.A.Q. # 31 but I'm a little puzzled, because you do not live as an ascetic, or sadhu, are you not choosing a middle path on one side of the extremes you have eluded to?

  13. Jerry, all I know, looking in myself & the world around me, is that living without money and taking only what we need (like the rest of nature's creatures, like the rest of the infinite universe) brings the balance called the Middle Way. Some people call that "asceticism," but that gives the false impression of scarcity. Does commercial civilization's practices of money and hoarding possessions create any semblance of balance (inside or outside us)? Our civilization's twin children are asceticism & self-indulgence.

  14. Suelo, I find your POV interesting. Your problem is you want to force it on others, as it were the only possible way of thinking.

Your moneyless way of living is as good as anything else as long as it works for you.

  15. Righto, Mig. I guess I have amnesia, not remembering I put a gun to your head and forced you to keep reading this blog. What we all DO know is that commercial civilization literally puts guns to our heads and bulldozes our lands and puts laws on its books, forcing us to live its ways or die! Living a life of clean conscience is not legal, plus it receives constant ridicule from Babylon's puppets.

  17. It's doing it right now to my people and creatures all over the world who don't partake in money and possessions, right now, as we speak, and you know it. Babylon keeps sending its cops with guns to boot me off free land and for simply walking without a car or ID. It's illegal in many states to not have money. How many free, native peoples are killed or relegated to reservations in "free" democracies? Should I go on with what's obvious?

Swaylo dont like the way this world is run by money . Yet he realy doesn't live without money . Mig calls him out on his hypocrisy. and so on and so on .

I have always tryed to tell it like it is here . The truth . The truth is that This life is temporary .No one Knows if there is a god . If you believe in the god of the bible , God loves us and we are 100 % forgiven .There is nothing we can do to make ourself any more forgiven than we already are . The new law of the new covenant is to love each other . All sin is the same .A lie is no different than the gay peversion . we are all human and we will always struggle with sin.

I think people have to go thru things that almost kill them to realy understand . But ,don't worry they will eventualy .

Its all JESUS and none of us , we are not in the equation.

We always point out others sin . We always think that "our way "is better .

If we want to be united Than we can follow the Kings (JESUS) law, Love each other .

  22. If we are in still in debt to the bank, how can we say we are forgiven?

To be forgiven of debt is to be free of debt: i.e., sinless!

"Forgive" doesn't mean "excuse." "Forgive" means be free from bad actions. "Excuse" means be free from the consequences of bad actions, to shirk responsibility, to justify ourselves, to bastardize the Gospel we claim to follow.

How can we be forgiven if we don't forgive, if we judge?

How can we be forgiven if we can't admit we're wrong (repent) when we know we are wrong?

Mistakes are daily. Forgiveness is daily, moment by moment, meaning repentance is daily. Taking up our cross, dying, is daily. Being born again is daily: forever Today. "Today I have begotten You." Not a moment before or after Now can we be the Only Begotten, Forgiven, Sinless.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Swaylo ,
Do you understand that you are TOTALY forgiven for ALL your sins ,past ,present and future ? Jesus paid the price for ALL our sin once and for all .

John 2:2 "He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

    Hebrews 10:1-18
1The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2If it could, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins, 4because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:
"Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
    but a body you prepared for me;
6with burnt offerings and sin offerings
    you were not pleased.
7Then I said, 'Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, O God.' " 8First he said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them" (although the law required them to be made). 9Then he said, "Here I am, I have come to do your will." He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. 13Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, 14because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

15The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:
16"This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds." 17Then he adds:
    "Their sins and lawless acts
I will remember no more." 18And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin

Ah, the finality of the cross is so sweet . JESUS did it all for us . Doesnt matter what weve done or, If we never appolagize for what we have done (repentence meens turning back to god not giving our power away to our enemies .Remember our enemies are called by god to love and forgive just like we are )

    Jesus is so good !

Like I said before Though , same old argument here . I have been trying to tell people the good news and they just don't seem to get It . But ,It doesnt bother me . Its jesus doing the work not me .

  25. Here is some great news -

    Love Is Enough
I struggle with understanding that people who are caught up in some kind of ‘sin’ aren’t in need of love. When we 'ALL' are sinful... Love that our Father gives us freely every day of our life. Though why do we allow sin to be such a big thing that prevents us from really and truly loving those who need it the most? I see Jesus doing that with all the people he used to hang out with back in the day. He knew they were in sin, but yet that didn’t stop him from loving them and hanging out with them. I think there are a lot of Christians that give sin and the evil one too much credit, too much attention, that they can’t even see life and love, but hate and evil. They are blind, blind by their own self-righteousness. I’ve been there before, and it sucks…There’s no life in that, just dirt roads that lead to nowhere. I look at people who are gay. Just because they are living that kind of life style, doesn’t mean I can’t love them and cherish them. I was reading an article about Jennifer Knapp, who was a popular Christian artist back when I was growing up and who just came out and told the world that she is now gay. Christianity Today was holding the interview with her and they were questioning her up and down, to no end, and what did that produce? Absolutely nothing good in my book! If I had a chance to talk to Jennifer, I would say this; You’re loved by a Father who cherishes you, and I love you too just as you are…

These are prime examples of what many are stuck on. They can’t see beyond sin, and all that they find is that people who are different from them are the problem, when just maybe the problem lies with them the whole time. Yeah, Christianity as a religion and what it produces, to me is a problem. It defiles the message and who God says he is, and never leaves room for grace. My prayer is that those who need love will get it, and people who are stuck in a rut of religion will never stand a chance to do any more damage than what they have already done.

I just want the truth of God to be known through the love he has given us to share, nothing less, and nothing more.

  30. Oh, I will !

    Thank you Jesus !

How do you know that people don't live it ? You don't know how god is working in the hearts of people . You have told the world that you are gay . I think mig pointed out that homosexuality is taboo, forbidden, By GOD. so when you have relations with another man ,does god forgive you or do you have to go sacrifice an animal in the desert for forgivness ?

If god is real (the god of the bible ) and you don't beleive that Jesus died for all your sin once and for all than you are still under the law of moses and that requires you to be perfect .Nobody has ever lived up to the standards of the law . Its was replaced with pure grace .

There is a order in the new covenant .

    1-God first loved us.

    2-we love god .

3-We become obedient and love others.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I hear that alot . If you tell someone about the pure grace of god . people will say oooooh your just telling them that they have a licence to sin .Well its true we realy can do anything we want .We are free ,but is it profitable ? I personaly sin less now that before I learned the truth of gods pure grace . Why ? Because the bible says that the power of sin is in the law . If you tell a child not to touch that toy on the floor what is the first thing he will do ? he will defi you and pick it up .

  32. Swaylo,

    You said-

It's good to realize the cold truth that we are nothing and that any good that shines through us is pure Grace.

You admit that any good that shines through us is pure grace so wouldn't that apply to all of us ? warmongers,Gay perverted, greedy, liers, thieves, adulterers ?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Swaylo,
From your blog you seem to be enemies with the people who run the banks ,warmongers, the greedy . You are called by god to love that is his law ,But I see you judging them . Mabey if You loved them they would see Jesus in you .

    Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous;

    love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly;

it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,

    does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails...But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

    1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13

    ReplyDelete
  34. I challenge you, won't-identify-yourself, to read through past comments to see who is judging whom, name-calling, falsely accusing. To state assumption as fact is to judge. To say what is is to say what is. To speak out against a rapist is the loving thing to do for both the victim and the rapist.

Quoting the April 4 blog post:

"Idolatry is revering and serving non-living entities and symbols as if they were alive and feeling beings.... We become the idol we revere and serve: unseeing, unhearing, unfeeling...(both Bhagavad Gita 17:3 and Psalm 134:15-18 say this)....
...notice that a few times I've denounced Wal Mart in this blog... some people have become highly offended, as if I've blasphemed a living, breathing god. I've been noticing how folks who are offended when we call corporations bad names have no problem calling fellow human beings names and looking down on them. Go out and check it out for yourself: experiment in different crowds of people by denouncing the corporation of your choice, and see what I mean. It's a blasphemy to many Americans, right up there with flag burning."

If what you say above is right, I suggest you remove all the Old Testament prophets, way harsher than I, and the entire New Testament for denouncing greed and warmongers (eg James 5:1-6), especially Jesus for driving out the merchants & moneychangers, for teaching everything he taught. That's what got em all killed. But then you don't have Christianity anymore. Perhaps find a more suitable religion; trouble is, all of the established ones also vehemently denounce greed-mongers!

Forgiveness can only happen if you repent. Surely you know the droves of scriptures. Is calling for repentance judging?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Suelo, it's good you present the dark side of greed. In fact most people would condemn greed, but keep practicing it for their profit.

Problem is, greed runs the world. Get rid of it and society may perish. Have you ever read a book about economics?.

Not everything is as simple as it seems. Same thing with war mongering, it's sometimes necessary to maintain peace.

    Swaylo,
Do you believe Jesus is GOD ? Do You believe that the holy bible is GODS word to the people ? Do you believe in the finality of the cross ? Do you believe you are a child of GOD ? Do you believe that we are saved by grace thru faith . Do you believe believers in Jesus are not under the law? Do you believe GOD loves you? Do you believe you are forgiven by god for gay perversion? Do you believe that He did it all on the cross and that there is nothing we can do to make ourself any more accepted by GOD than we already are ? Do you believe that you can do nothing without Jesus ? Do you believe that after Jesus death the new covenant came into affect that is our new doctrine? Do you believe we are saved thru Jesus alone ?You don't and I do so there is no use arguing given we are not comming from the same premise .

You could change your blog and do away with anonymous folks .We are anon because you give us the choice .

God denounces homo's . swaylo is not of god . Also I don't think Suelo is a sexual pervert. He just accepted his homosexuality, probably at a platonic level. I don't think he is having actual sex with other men. That would be contrary to his teachings and lifestyle.

Finally, Suelo is not hurting anyone. Except his hypocrisy may have harmed some egos, mine included.

  42. I think swaylo needs to repent With his brand of repentance and appologize to the world for being gay perverted .I think he needs to denounce homosexuality . Its not of god .Its a bad example to all .

    ReplyDelete
  43. Suelo should clarify what he means by homosexual.

    Or remove that confusing word.

    ReplyDelete
  44. A friend just emailed me suggesting I remove slanderous & obscene comments. I often consider it. But for now I don't feel it's right to moderate (except for removing commercial advertisements), because the comments speak for themselves and clearly reveal to the world who is who. Sometimes I react, & that's my weakness, which the world needs to see, too.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Well say, Suelo. It makes me sick the kind of comments you/we have to put up with daily, when they wouldn't dear telling face to face. Let's hope for the day that people learn to communicate on the net as mature adults. And it's such a waste of space.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Suelo ,
I realy wish you would moderate so you and friends wouldn't have to hear the truth that homosexual perversion is against gods law and I wouldn't have to keep telling you. Lock us out I would be glad if you did !

    ReplyDelete
  47. It is unfortunate that you attract so many horrible people to come here and rant and rave. But I guess those who find the chink in the wall have to be punished before the word gets out.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Ana & Piper: Yeah, sometimes it gets me way down. But when we step back, it's actually fun, the inevitable part of the Great Drama described by physics, biology, and religion. Every organism has to go through its proving ground, and the provers hone it down.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I am appalled at the intolerance to different opinions on this blog. The "beautiful people" are the ones who agree with everything Suelo has to say. The "horrible" ones, people who disagree.

For the record, I have seldom seen any intelligent discussion regarding Suelo's main tenets. Only lame praises or negative rants.

Is this what you call an intelligent discussion?.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Mig,
Amen to that ! They call us horrible because we speak the truth . They can't handle the truth !

    ReplyDelete
  51. Suelo could moderate and shut us out .Don't know why he don't . Why would he want to deal with all this reality ,all this truth ? Enough to drive a gay man mad .

    ReplyDelete
  52. Interesting conversation is very relative, sometimes silent is the best comment.

Suelo remember Buddha, Jesus has to suffered dearly to stand up for the truth, it a tough path you've chosen, standing for the truth is the hardest thing. When someone try to do good attract the opposite with the same strength, that why is so important the secrecy you where talking about, for a good reason my mother used to say when we had an exam don't say to anyone, she was right. Persevere brother!

  53. Hi Daniel, Hi Ana, Hi Miguel,
Hope you are doing well, just got back from a couple weeks wandering around Florida.
Ana, remember the story about the ring? Well, I left Colorado without my sunglasses but the first night I was out I found a pair in a park and they are just perfect for me. I turned them in to the security guard and he said they had been left the day before and nobody claimed them, Serendipity works!
Plenty of mango, avacadoes and other fruit in Fla. I've been trying to gather as much fruit as I can find, had a great time eating cherries before I left Colorado.
Anyway, had a great time, oh and I forgot the coconuts!

    Suelo, thanks for your help!

  54. Didn't God create us as we are- including our sexual orientation?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Please, don't censor, Mr. Suelo. Free speech should be for all, even idiots, assholes and morons!

    ReplyDelete
  56. At least someone comes forward in defense of free speech. It's a funny thing that most people consider idiots all people who disagree with them.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Suelo states the following:

"Wild Nature, outside commercial civilization, runs on gift economy: "freely give, freely receive." Thus it is balanced."

That's one of the most naive descriptions I have ever heard of "Wild Nature". It seems Suelo is not aware of the ruthless competition for survival.

It´s clear many people would buy Suelo's story because they are eager to be deceived, not because they know what Suelo is talking about.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Freely stick your %^%%^ in my asshole freely suck on my %%#$%& . I dont think so .

    To all swaylo followers ,
Homosexuality is against gods laws ! Why Is swaylo not commenting on the above comments ? Because he has no argument .

1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (NIV).

Leviticus 18:22 - "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable." (NIV)

Leviticus 20:13 - "If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." (NIV)

Romans 1:26-27 - "Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." (NIV)

Are you following a guru that is leading you to hell ?

Its not only against gods law its is very GROSS ! Think about it !

RUN ! Your soul is in danger !

  59. Sodom and Gomorrah

The Sodom and Gomorrah motif from the Nuremberg Chronicle by Hartmann Schedel, 1493. Note Lot's wife, already transformed into a salt pillar, in the center. For other uses, see Sodom and Gomorrah (disambiguation).
Sodom (Hebrew: סְדוֹם, Modern Sədom Tiberian Səḏôm, Greek Σόδομα) and Gomorrah (Hebrew: עֲמוֹרָה, Modern ʿAmora Tiberian Ġəmôrāh/ʿĂmôrāh, Greek Γόμορρα) were, according to the Bible, two cities which were destroyed by God.

For the sins of their inhabitants Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim were destroyed by "brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven."[Gen 19:24-25] In Christianity and Islam, their names have become synonymous with impenitent sin, and their fall with a proverbial manifestation of God's wrath. Cf.Jude 1:7, Qur'an(S15)Al-Hijr:72-73.

Sodom and Gomorrah have been used as metaphors for vice and homosexual deviation. The story has therefore given rise to words in several languages, including the English word "sodomy," a term used today predominantly in law (derived from traditional Christian usage) to describe anal intercourse, as well homosexuality.

    Suelos going to hell !

    ReplyDelete
  60. Ah, yes, the list you quote is great of those who cannot inherit the Kingdom of God, isn't it?

"Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Cor 15:50).

He that is not flesh and blood cast the first stone.

The most liberating decision of my life was to be willing to go to hell for giving up pretense: letting this body & mind be real, to be what God create them to be, even if it means hell. All the scriptures & condemnation in the world won't change a leopard into a tabby cat. Let me be in hell with with those who know love & respect, let me be in hell with Jesus, rather than in heaven with minds of bigotry. I can think of no greater hell than being in heaven with minds of bigotry.

  61. Mr. Anonymous, what is it that you hope to acheive? Your not going to convert anyone the way your going about it. Your self-righteous,narrow-minded rhetoric only illuminates your ignorance. So why do you do it?

That way you will learn something about economics and stop talking bullshit.

    ReplyDelete
  66. I guess everyone thought Einstein, Curie, DaVinci, Salk, Galileo et al. were talking bullshit too.
Economics is only relevent to those who have been brainwashed by the Fed, which is run by the Rothschilds, Bilderburgs and the other world bankers.

It's ok Miguel, it's not a lie if you beleive it!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Most of economics is bullshit. Wishful thinking that isn't applied in a consistent, rational way.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hey Suelo,

Jesse here. How cool that someone decided to try out your lifestyle! Hopefully one day I can meet him. Having lived in LA most of my life, I really savor meeting anyone willing to think outside the box. God bless Roy, and you too Suelo.

As for Miguel's comment about whether moneyless living can become ego-driven. So can any other lifestyle. Of course it can become ego driven! =) There's that risk in anything we do, but reality is that moneyless living will probably be a lot better on the spirit, by not having to worry so much about impressing the Johnson's next door with the latest and greatest gadget.

If you try something and it doesn't work, then at least you know, but if you sit back at home and say the world is screwed and there's nothing you can do about it, then you've already lost the battle.

  69. Mr. Suelo, they hate you because you thrive doing what you think is right. They are green with envy because they are trapped and you are as free as any of God's creatures. Let them wallow in ignorance and hatred.

Actually, the link I provided represents a School of Economics that is against central banking and the FED.

Before opening your mouth, learn to read.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Ah, but I did visit your website Mig, and your right, it is only a school. It does not matter what they think, they control nothing and achieve nothing, and contribute economic philosophy, so it is irrelevant.
At least Suelo is living his economic philosophy, while you are just another tool being used by the system. You know this and it makes you angry doesn't it?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Let's start by saying that you and Suelo don't know anything about economics. Neither did great thinkers as Marx or Einstein.

You know being intelligent doesn't mean being practical or having actual knowledge of a practical science. Most intellectuals are complete idiots with relation to everyday life.

Finally, I could also say Suelo is also tool used by the system to give some peace of mind to social rejects and economic failures. Hope you get some peace of mind, Uncle Cracker.

P.S You are a tool Suelo uses to get his shit together.

    ReplyDelete
  74. So where did you get your degree in economics Mig?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Who said you need a degree to have a reasonable knowledge about the subject?.

Jerry, when did you become another tool of Suelo?.

Good lord, Suelo seems like a mutant octopus, full of tentacles. They appear out of thin air.

  77. Same as always, ask him a direct question and he sidesteps it. Jerry, he's not the least interested in anything but being negative and contrary. The points he tries to make are random and sometimes incoherent(see mutant octopus). Logic and linear thought are not his strong suit, not to mention the excuses.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Is it not clear to you that to go back to that old rule-keeping, peer-pleasing religion would be an abandonment of everything personal and free in my relationship with God? I refuse to do that, to repudiate God's grace. If a living relationship with God could come by rule-keeping, then Christ died unnecessarily. Gal. 2:21.

    ReplyDelete
  79. The very theme of this whole blog & website, which you might do good to read before commenting: It's all Grace, Gratis, and must show automatically in our actions. We are saved by Grace, we live by Grace, and we walk and work by Grace.

Babylon and its lackeys have hijacked Christianity and all religions to make them say the opposite. It's called Orwellian Doublespeak, and you demonstrate it perfectly. How about if we finally honor scripture with its true meaning?

"By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.
But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in DEED and in truth." (1 John 3:16-18)

May everybody on earth keep those "rules"!

How can we say we believe in Jesus when we not only ignore everything he taught and lived but actually piss on them and call anybody evil who even suggests that we live them? How can we say we believe in the one who gave up all his possessions, right down to his life on the cross, when we can't even give up our SUVs and mega-mansions and our sweatshop-made toys, all of which we know are built on the backs of the poor and poison the earth that our brothers and sisters and ourselves are dependent upon? And we do this under the guise of Grace, of "not following rules." So-called evangelicals adore quoting scripture when it is convenient for shirking responsibility, justifying self as "100% forgiven," yet condemning everybody else to hell. Ephesians 2:8-9 is a prime example. Conveniently, the very next verse 10, saying we are ordained to good works, is ignored, as are all the droves of scripture in the New Testament that tell us we actually PRACTICE Jesus' teachings if we BELIEVE in Jesus. The books of 1 John & James are most blatant about this. Thank God they're written after Jesus' death so fundamentalists can't use the excuse that Jesus' teachings are for some another pre-crucifixion "Dispensation".

It's totally bizarre I even have to point out such common sense.

The branch does nothing but rest in the Vine, in Grace. And it lives and bears fruit automatically. If not, it is not part of the Vine.

"Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not practice what I say?" (Jesus Christ)

    ReplyDelete
  80. Good point, but you make a mistake calling it common sense. It's not so common, or is it?.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Ok I hear you . What if we practice what jesus says today and tomorrow we fall into sin ? Does grace cover that ?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Why not practice what jesus says everyday then you won't have to worry about it.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Who cares what a deluded cult leader said two thousand years ago?.

Anyway I recognize Suelo's coherence, because he seems aware of the true message of Jesus. Or so we hope.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Suelo,
I have encounters with men frequently . Am I going to hell ?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Honestly, I don't know anything more than anybody else. The only thing I or anybody knows is that Love does no ill to her neighbor, therefore Love is the fulfilling of the law.

We can debate rules, theology, historical figures, heaven and hell, but Love is the only Rule we can ever know and follow in 100% confidence. Love is 100% clear conscience (Heaven) and all else is hell. Love covers a multitude of sins - call love the Blood of Messiah, if you like. Love doesn't care what you call her. If she did, she wouldn't be love, and we all know this without doubt. Where 2 or more are gathered in the Present Moment, there Love is in the Midst. It's the confession of Messiah come in the flesh, right here, right now. All else is Anti-Messiah. Or whatever you want to call it... Love doesn't care.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Love is important indeed, but what about hate?.

    Isn't it important too?.

If it were not important it would not exist.

    ReplyDelete
  88. I am sorry for the pointless arguing and attacks, Suelo. This matter is settled. I won't do any more nasty attacks on you.

You are an honest man and you were giving your humble opinion, that's all. I tend to take things too personally and hold grudges.

Please understand I thought your philosophy made my life meaningless. But that's not true, I have the right to follow my own philosophy.

I will do what I consider to be right, because I believe I don't need to ask for your permission. It's my choice if I want to own a mega-mansion or a Hummer. Or turn into a banker.

    Bless Diversity!.

From the beginning, through all your annoying comments, I couldn't help but feel something Big in you - kind of an enigma, so underneath I couldn't help but smile. We all have free will to do whatever, and we humans (me included) often wish the other guy didn't have free will but would submit to our own. The best we can do is follow our own conscience & appeal to others' consciences by following our own.

I'm thrilled to see understanding was brought out into the open between Mig and yourself. wonderful!!

  99. I don't understand why we as human beings pick other human beings apart. We don't know what they are going through in their minds and hearts, so how can we judge? We don't know the situation. But yet we all judge, including myself... and you. Why is that?
If we have negative feelings about others.. why do we continue to seek out, read about them, comment on their blogs, etc?

    ReplyDelete
  100. Steph, I think one reason why human beings pick each other apart is because we often times project our guilt onto them. In the case of Suelo, I think many people feel very guilty for chasing after material goods, and they see that Suelo is not doing that. That makes them feel guilty and so they would rather place that guilt onto him instead of dealing with it in themselves. There's definitely a pattern with regards to the type of people who are most viciously against what Suelo and others are doing.

It has a modern distribution system, excellent internal and external communications, and a skilled labor force. In September 2003, Swedish voters turned down entry http://forextwitter.blogspot.com

    ReplyDelete
  102. Jesse, you have a very good point. However, you are not noticing another important point, namely the same argument can be used against Suelo.

Yes, you could say Suelo argues against corporations and businessmen, because he feels guilty for not contributing to the economy and his community in any tangible way.

Also, you could say he feels guilty for his innovative religious ideas and this explains why he slashes against fundamentalist christians.

    It's projected guilt in action!.

Also, I am quite sure his republican/christian parents would not be very proud of a scavenger with unorthodox religious ideas. Not matter how many times Suelo repeats how wonderful his parents are and how well they understand him. I am just not buying into his perfect family facade.

I hope you don't take this as yet another nasty attack on Suelo. Because I think I have good points to prove there is nobody that can honestly claim "I am holier than thou".

    ReplyDelete
  103. Hi Miguel. Sure, anyone can project, not just those seeking wealth. However, I think you said a few key words which really give away your bias. You said that Suelo doesn't contribute to society in any "tangible way." Can you tell me what IS a tangible way of measuring our contributions or lack thereof to society? Is a corporate lawyer defending CocaCola's treatment of employees REALLY contributing to society? If Suelo was getting paid for working on the farm, would he THEN be contributing to society?

If I had to take a wild guess, I would say that this "tangible way" of contributing, in your mind, is equated to money. I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Receiving and spending money doesn't contribute to society, it often makes it worse. Just because you don't get paid for your services doesn't mean you're not working.

I haven't heard Suelo come across as holier than thou. That's yet another thing that people who feel guilty tend to do. They often accuse those who are trying to offer a solution which they don't like as being self-righteous. I've never heard Suelo claim that he's better than anyone. However, to make things simple, I would his lifestyle is better for most of mankind than majority of how Western people live. How's that? Is that holier than thou?
